Memos Bar and Grill: Discover Annapolis' Hidden Culinary Gem

Memo's Bar and Grill is a hidden gem that our party of four is glad we tried for the first time tonight. If you live in the Annapolis/Parole area, we recommend that you give it a try. The space was formerly occupied by an Indian restaurant (near Ferguson's) but is under new ownership and has a completely different menu with a variety of offerings. For starters, we enjoyed tasty margaritas and beer with 2 appetizers of fried calamari and stuffed eggplant rolls - all well-perpared and half-price during happy hour. Entrees included 2 beet & salmon salads, rib-eye steak and fresh tuna tacos - equally satisying. The service was excellent. We will return!

Today I met the new owner. We had a great discussion about all the things they were passionate about. Long story short, I haven’t talked to an owner that was so passionate about what they were doing. I tried two epic salsas, and ordered way more food then I should have….but OMG SO GOOD!!! Every dish was better than the last. The service here was impeccable. My recommendation, come in order a beer and ask for their recommend dish. You won’t regret it….PS. Ask for extra salsa….the hot one is but worth every bite!

Food was delicious! Berry Salad was good, the tiramisu is great, not too sweet! The chicken sandwich also good! Mariana is an excellent server, made myself and my whole family feel welcome and visited the table to check on us at the perfect times! The vegetarian Lasagna was good, I hear, have to come back to try it! The music was a bit loud at first but they didn’t mind turning it down for us!

We met the new owner he is very personable and friendly he offered a new appetizer for us to try that he made today, it was a delicious Avocado based dip with chips. We had a wonderful dinner the Salmon and Scampi were delicious and the Tiramisu was the best we have ever had! We think he should change the name to reflect the new ownership and the upscale menu! It’s definitely more than a Bar and Grille. More people should try this place it’s fantastic! Wishing him all the success in his new business adventure.

My husband and I recently stumbled on this little gem this past week. We were just looking for bar food at a late hour and we were extremely impressed with everything about this restaurant. My husband said his burger was the best he ever had - it was high quality beef, and my turkey sandwich with avocado was perfect. There's a sophisiticated vibe to Memos, yet it's the best deal in Annapolis.

Incredible jalapeno poppers. Some of the best I've had. Locos burger was also incredible. Owner is wonderful and treated me with kindness and respect.

The chicken empanadas were quite good, lightly fried to give a good crunch but not oily at all. Cheese was tasty but not overpowering and they were a little spicy but not so much as to overpower the average diner. The atmosphere of the restaurant is, for lack of a better term, whack. The decorations and music were a random mix of at least 5 different styles and the menu includes lasagna, seafood, Thai food, and Mexican food. The service was very poor. Slow to take orders, refill drinks, etc. Couldn't remember orders, and generally just a rough experience. The food is the saving grace here but I wouldn't take anyone there for a positive overall experience.

Stopped in because it was right across from our hotel After a long day of travel it was the perfect spot. Spoke with the new owner and he was very personable and welcoming. Our food was excellent. We had the jalapeño corn crab soup, the crab cake entree and the salmon and beet salad. All food was very fresh and delicious. The name of the restaurant will be changing shortly but highly recommend checking this place out for a great meal !
